Cregan, Father Mark
FATHER Mark Cregan has for years balanced a career in education and law as president of his alma mater, Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, and professor of non-profit law at the college.
Cregan was also the pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in the Bronx. During his time at Sacred Heart, he created a general law office where he served low income clients with immigration, family, estate and real estate problems.
Cregan holds a master of divinity degree from the University of St. Michael's College at the Toronto School of Theology (University of Toronto). He is a former member of the board of trustees at the University of St. Michael's College. He also holds a JD from Brooklyn Law School.
Cregan is licensed to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court in the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the District of Columbia and the U.S. District Courts for Puerto Rico and Massachusetts, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit.
A Newark native, Cregan joined the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1975 and was ordained a Catholic priest in 1983.
Cregan traces his Irish roots to Co. Kerry. He is supportive of Stonehill’s vibrant Irish Studies program.
