Paddy Barnes is an amateur boxer from Belfast who has a resume filled with victories including the All-Ireland light-flyweight division in 2006 and 2007 and a three-year Ulster title winning streak.

Barnes represented Northern Ireland in the 2006 Commonwealth games in Australia. Barnes’ club is the Holy Family club in Belfast where a warm welcome awaited him this summer when he returned home with the Olympic bronze medal in light-flyweight division.

Barnes faced Chinese boxer Shiming Zou in the semifinals and impressed many with his determination and effort.
