The Irish Technology Leadership Group (ITLG) is to open an office in the Westpark Shannon business Campus.

ITLG, which is made up of Irish American and Irish technology leaders in Silicon Valley, has signed an agreement to open an office, which will promote existing and new start-ups in the region with new and established companies in the States. The group already has offices in Belfast and Dublin.

"I am very excited that the opening of this new office will greatly assist in that process. It will act as a conduit for contacts between major U.S. technology corporations and Irish enterprises", said Limerick native John Hartnett, ITLG Chairman and CEO of the Cardiff-based G24i Technology Group.

The news is a big boost to the local economy. "This initiative is especially timely.  It highlights the attraction of the Shannon Region of Ireland as a low-cost, high-contribution center for U.S. companies wishing to develop their global enterprise models through a presence in Europe,” said Brian O'Connell, Managing Director, Westpark Shannon and Chairman of Atlantic Way

It is hoped that the ITLG’s presence in the area will develop close bonds between Silicon Valley and the West of Ireland’s Atlantic Way Region.

The Westpark Shannon business campus is located near Shannon Airport. Some of the the prominent companies already working there include GE, Digital River, Genesis Lease and SES. It is also home to the National Regional Headquarters for Enterprise Ireland.
