The Guinness Storehouse in Dublin had a record-setting year in 2012 that saw 1,087,209 guests visit the location.
The Irish Independent reports that 2012 saw a 6 percent increase in visitors as compared to 2011. The previous record number of visitors was in 2008 when 1,038,910 people visited.
With the high volume of visitors in 2012, the Guinness Storehouse has retained its position as Ireland’s number one international visitor location. The Storehouse has welcomed visitors from more than 25 countries around the world.
Among the high number of visitors are also a few high-profile visitors. Ellen DeGeneres and Conan O’Brien have both hosted segments of their shows from the Guinness Storehouse.

Paul Carty, managing director of Guinness Storehouse said: "2012 was a very exciting and busy year for us at the 'Home of Guinness.' Not only did we welcome record-breaking visitors through our doors, including some high-profile guests and media, we also unveiled a number of innovative and engaging new experiences as part of our three-year €10m investment plan.
“It's heartening to see the numbers increase and with the spotlight on Ireland this year for The Gathering, I believe we can look forward to another successful year in 2013."
Earlier in 2012, the Storehouse unveiled the first phase of their new investment, the ‘Global’ fourth floor which tells the story of how Guinness has been spread around the world.
In 2013, the Guinness Storehouse will develop a new Guinness Taste Experience, an interactive room telling the Arthur Guinness Story and also invest in a new-look flagship retail store.
