Their are no other riots but orange riots. One gang leader kills another gang leader in Dublin and that your comparison!! how weak. BTW let little Leah fight her own battles nosy.

Seano wants to highlight Loyalist rioting, where the article is about dissident republican criminal gang warfare? I've no time for 'mobs' of any persuasion...nor for drug-dealing 'so-called' republicans...However, as he seems to have dropped the 'PSNI/RUC' label on this, maybe even he is slowly 'moving foward'?

The population in the north is already frightened by rioting orange mobs controlled by the UDA and the UDF but you ignore these reprobates maybe your one of them. Nothing to say about the orange riots Hmmmm! interesting. If you do not know what the derogatory "west Brit" means go ask a decent Irish man or women I'm not here to drag you out of the gutter. Keep your puerile stupidity to your self.

seanmelb: Are you coming over for the big IRA/PRIA/RIRAfuneral in Donameade at the weekend then to which us decent people will be subjected to, black flags and tricolours flying everwhere? The bully boys are coming down from Ulster to try and frighten the local population. If so, they will be subject to scrutiny from the Irish State Security forces. We don't take kindly to these people. And again I ask WHAT EXACTLY IS A WEST BRIT? You explain!!

aloismartin fails to tell us that the rioting is caused by orange gangs controlled by the UDA and the UDF. So say the PSNI. On sunday night the PSNI claim that an orange gang tried to murder a police officer. The PIRA do not exist they handed in their arms, leahkinsellea expounds the usual rhetoric tarring everyone with the same West Brit brush. All talk and no substance.

@seanmelb and Dnorth. Unfortunately Irish republicans are deeply mired in drug dealing, protection rackets, fuel smuggling etc. They have no "war" to fight so they must make their money elsewhere by terrifying decent law-abiding people. Once again certain people on this site are saying IRA, PRIA RIRA ARE SPOTLESS, THEY'RE NOT! The old excuse against the Irish media and "securocrats" is being used again. Alan Ryan was a cruel and inhumane man and unfortunately they are others like him who threatened small businesses the minute they opened up, decent people trying to make a living and employ others, (my sister was one of those decent people), the sooner they are rooted out the better.!

It's stuff like this that makes me glad that I live in England which, despite its faults, is probably the best country in the world!

The culpability for such tragedies lay with us all. Particularly so with those who are end users of drugs. Were there to be no illicit drug market, the violent activity in pursuit of lucrative control of these "businesses" would die on the vine as there would be no business to do. Were there to be no business, there would exist nothing to shake down, etc . Relative to the "Real IRA", Hate can not beget Love, Injustice can not beget justice and violence rarely begets peace. When the message of Christ is FINALLY listened and adhered to, LOVE will reign and our differences will be an academic dialogue aimed at understanding and unity. How many Catholics receive HIM in Communion only to be shortly thereafter out of the very Communion they have pledged, A pledge to Peace, Forgiveness, Compassion, Love, Each Other, to HIM who is the embodiment of ALL of those. It's nigh time to be, ALL OF US, a full bore participatory force so as to truly bring both meaning and fruition to "ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN". Greetings from Philadelphia. Let's get this job done.

Apparently the car involved was found burnt out on Hole in the Wall Road; now I didn't know Dublin even had a 'Hole in the Wall Road', but it seems as if the killer(s) had some strange sense of ironic black humour, Boondock saints indeed...

He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword. In this case the dude lived in Swords, Co. Dublin and died by the Glock. Wait a minute, Ireland has the strictest of hand-gun controls in the universe. Garda Superentendants in the 21 districts, without a legal warrant went around and confiscated ALL handguns over .22 calibre a few years back. So how can these Limerick and North Dublin lads be gettin shot bu 9mm semi-auto handguns? It must be a MSM deception to cause panic amongst a specific esteemed Irish "cultural commity", cause all is paradise in paradise.

Don't know who this guy is/was, or whether or not he was associated with the splinter paramilitary organisation styling itself the Real Irish Republican Army (RIRA). If not, there's a disturbing possibility that a certain reactionary strain of partitionist journalism and/or certain elements within the Anglo-Irish securocracy, (with or without political direction?), are attepting to criminalise peace process dissenting republicans by black propaganda masquerading as news and media? Needless to say, real republicans don't engage in criminal activity any more than they collaborate with imperialism. Pearse didn't push drugs. Connolly didn't do protection rackets. And Collins didn't sleep with the enemy. Or did he?
