He might be known in the tiny fish bowel of right wing New York Irish circles but no one else could pick him out of a lineup. I'm an Irish New York Catholic, so please don't talk down to me TiggerTom, as if you held the key to Irish citizenship or this city. It's narrow attitudes like yours that have made the parade a pariah in Manhattan. Even the President of Ireland wouldn't look at you.

To tcrowe62: Thanks for setting the record straight. I owe ya a Guinness. To hollabackgurl: I know Frank and his beautiful wife, Maura. He's a good, sincere human being. Did you notice the number and quality organizations he's involved with? In addition to Frank's kindness, he's very, very funny. Wherever he goes, he makes lasting friends and he becomes successful. The parade, our parade (yours and mine) is LUCKY to have an Irish-Catholic gentleman like Frank Comerford. Just ask him. Kidding. Please don't judge people by their jobs and please don't feel us NY Irish-Catholics need celebrities or "high profile" people to lead our parades. We don't! Now, God Bless ya, and get back to your 'People' or 'Us' magazine and leave Irish Central and well enough alone!

To hollabackgurl, you may not know Frank Comerford but he is well known to anyone associated with the NYC St. Patrick's Day parade. In his role as NBC President he was instrumental in keeping the parade on television for our enjoyment. I applaud the wise and popular selection of Frank Comerford as the Grand Marshal for the 2012 NYC St. Patrick's Day parade!

Oh great another high profile candidate who's known to - who exactly? Next year can we have a chartered accountant or a middle manager? Finding people reactionary enough to accept is getting harder and harder innit?
