Lady Gaga goes crazy for Irish hat designer Philip Treacy
Lady Gaga is known as much for her outrageous fashion sense as she is for her music, so it’s no surprise that she wants to team up with a fellow style guru who can also get rather crazy with his designs.
We speak of Irish milliner to the stars Philip Treacy, who has designed hats for just about every A-lister out there, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Prince Charles’ missus Camilla Parker Bowles and Gaga herself (he worked with Giorgio Armani on one of the ensembles she wore to the Grammy Awards).
Now Gaga, according to reports, wants to learn from the Co. Galway-born, London based master himself by becoming an intern in his company.
“Gaga’s crazy about the idea,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Philip agreed to give her an internship when they met at the Brits (awards). She hopes to take him up on the offer this summer.”
Could this be true? A spokesperson for Treacy said, “Lady Gaga has requested an internship but Philip will have to check her sewing skills first.”
Sounds like a tongue in cheek response, and given that the Lady has a full tour schedule until the end of the year, we can’t imagine she’ll have much time for sewing. Maybe she can start learning when she returns to Ireland in October and November for five dates in Dublin and Belfast.
Incidentally, the webmasters who run Ladygaga.com should really bone up on geography. They have their girl down to play three gigs in Belfast, located in a country called Great Britain. We can see the protests and pickets starting already!
