It isn't the Irishman's fault that the United States has this sort of bully working in "security" positions. These guys are jerks. Someone makes a joke about their ridiculous behavior, and they do their best to cause them real harm. Meanwhile, U.S. military officers routinely RAPE their female co-workers and nobody does anything about it.

I'm an American, and I didn't know that "destroy" meant "party". But it's clear from the context of the tweets that this was just a lot of joking around. I agree, a complete overreaction in this case.

@jamieLM.Quote"The U.S. has NO IDEA if someone is serious or just being a wise-ass"Unquote.That's the part that worries me.You see jamieLM in the free world we reprimand the stupidity of what people say.You can't go around severely punishing people for what they say on the stupid internet. Those agents knew who they were and where they lived in England. They probably knew everything about them. The fact of the matter is those agents set out to frighten the life out of those innocent people.Do you not feel embarrassed that American agents said "We are going to check your luggage for spades"?Like terrorist's are going to board a plane with a couple of earth digging tools?A couple of words would have been enough to these naive people and let them on their way. This heavy handedness when it comes to security is ~ call it by it's true name ~ Fascism.I guarantee you if that kind of heavy handedness is allowed to continue. The American people are in big trouble. He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither ~ Benjamin Franklin.(wise words)Homeland Security it seems are testing the American people to see how far they can go.Ye are been primed for something serious in the future.I sh*t you not.

@sirpeter, the #1 threat to the U.S. is terrorism - foreign and homegrown. The U.S. has no idea if someone is serious or just being a wise-ass. The U.S. takes ALL threats seriously and with good reason. At 26, not 16, this twit should've known better than to make threats. If this jokester enjoys making threats, then he should've stayed in Ireland and made threats to the Irish govt. and not waste the time of U.S. officials. If he had made threats in England, France, or Germany, maybe they would've found it more amusing than the U.S. - but I doubt it. At 26, grow up.

It's terrible to have Tourettes. He must be the guy who can't stop himself from yelling "Hi-Jack" and "Bomb" in airports.

Van Bryan is not exactly an Irish name. My question to him is, "Hel-lo, you're 26, how stupid are you?" Obviously, VERY.
