I would caution a warning to all those coming to the USA from Ireland - if you aren't legal don't come. More and more companies (esp. around here - VA and MD) are prosecuting employers for hiring illegals and its no longer just those from LAM. The Irish are known as great workers but its not worth the hassle to employers to take on illegals any longer! Also, the economy isnt as it used to be so even cheap labor isnt as easy to find. If you have a visa to work, make sure you have accommodation and make sure you have a job before you come!

Go Shannon!! It is sooooo much better than Dublin which is like a crazy cattle mart! i fly into Shannon all the time from the USA and its just a breeze to go through compared to Dublin - that and the staff are friendlier and the restaurant food is better! Could do with a few more shops downstairs but otherwise for travelling its a breeze!! Well Done Shannon!
