Clancy belt up, as a grandmother of 2 precious grandsons, couldn't imagine my life without them. I one of the lucky ones, would not deprive this wonderful family of what we assume would happen naturally. There for the grace of God go we that have no probs in extending our families.
Lovely story, I wish all of you a long, healthy and happy life. My children have strong Kerry roots and we named our daughter after the beautiful County.
Btw: One grandmother was 61 when she gave birth to her grandchild and another grandmother in 2008 in Ohio gave birth to identical triplets at 56. Lots of happy grandmothers and daughters & son-in-laws with their babies. (:))
This is a nice story, one that gives room for deeper thought by those who have not exercised all their options whilst trying to have a child. The naysayers here should pipe down.
There's nothing new about this. Other grandmothers have done the same thing - the first one was years ago. One grandmother gave birth to twins. I'm glad they have a baby, but this is definitely not a "first."
I don't understand the need to make a big public splash with the story. It seems as if these people are publicity hounds. Go in, live your lives - but think of your child, who now will grow up in the center of the mad, insatiable public eye.
