who's the he and who the she - its getting to be one complicated world. on the flip side how will we know the boys arrangements and as for the bisexuals - there needs to be a book for dummies on this new world order. as for the sex changers i throw my hands in the air.

I think that people are free to make their own decisions, after all that is why we are individuals, but as far as a Handfasting for a gay marraige? Your breaking tradition! It is intended for a male and female just as the Goddess and God joined as one. It doesn't say, nor do we believe that the God is with a male God, and our Goddess is with another female. But it is suppose to male and female joined as one, seperate individuals, but their souls are joined. I don't understand why gay/lesbians even get involved with Wicca because it is based on a Male God and a Female Goddess, our mother and our father, that's what it takes to create life. I'm not against gay/lesbians in any way, but don't try to change something that has been this way for hundreds if not thousands of years. It's just like when you see a catholic church, the first I think or is a priest who is a child molester because of the bad reputation it has gotton. Get it.

Great story ladies, congratulations!
I pray to a god that loves everyone for who they are. The god I pray to is not a bigot or a raciest and created us equally to become the people we want to become in our hearts and souls. There is only one creator and that is God and he didn't make any mistakes when creating gay or straight, black or white, brown or grey when creating the human race. Too bad evil can come in many forms and using god as the carrier of an evil message.

Met in 1982 and married in 2011. Together for 32 years? Do the math again!

Congratulations to both ladies. They sound like a great couple and it’s wonderful that they’ve finally had their partnership recognized and validated in New York. I’m not at all surprised by Cullen’s observations on homophobic and racist comments that she has heard in Irish society. Unfortunately it still exists and is very much alive and well in readers’ comments on any given day at Irish Central.

P.S. And I do NOT care who gets elected Mayor of New York City, as long as she (or he) has the courage of John Lindsay to walk the streets of Harlem the night M.L. King died, the compassion to stand in the ashes of WTC and console the city and the nation; the savvy to re-invigorate a city in the throes of economic woes.

I saw the subject of the article and already knew who wrote it. Mr. O'D has a "one track mind" and this does not a great writer make. I use Walt Whitman as one example.

Best of luck to both of them...had a very good friend who ,who was not lesbian to start,is now and in a stable relationship..it was hard to begin with..I struggled to understand it.I am smarter now ,seeing how happy she is .I have seen great lack of understanding in Ireland for gay and lesbians. It is getting better ,I believe. As with most things in Ireland..it takes time.It takes strength and courage for most to come out...they should have the same rights as the rest of us!I salute the courage of Gov Cuomo...he is the real deal.
