The Irish Republic actually has an army? Unbelievable!

"SLATTERY'S MOUNTED FUT" springs to mind. I am sure the Army would be a fine body of marching men if somebody helps them tie up their bootlaces. I hope they don't send the shower I saw once who took ten minutes to scramble down off the back of a truck. ........... Seriously, though, the thought of a political party in Ireland backed by the Armed Forces ... brings that faint unwelcome taste of blood up to the back of the throat ...

You know, I think this madman, Ned O’Keefe, might be right. Let’s bung the Irish Army, Navy and Air Corps together. Let them - with their limited armour resources, which are far less than every other country’s armour - let them charge in, in a do-or-die effort, shell, bomb and destroy every IMF/EU and money-laundering company's headquarters. That way we might wake them up to what we feel about what they are doing to us in this wee island of Ireland in their attempts to dominate the world of us. Smack them in the Gob. Vote for O’Keefe – to be President of Ireland!

How can the son Kevin say "I'm shocked", and a few words before that say "I have no idea what he said"

The Defence forces have issued a statement saying that they serve the state every day of every year and have no intention of getting involved in politics.

Ned O'Keeffe is right, Haughey was the best leader Ireland ever had and as for the military coup, that is very probable but not from the free state army. I have always maintained that the IRA were operating the wrong side of the border. Time to re group lads and take over the republic. That is perhaps what Ned O'Keeffe envisages, hopefully!

Ha ,ha, ha, who is this poor man speaking for.It does,nt look like he is very happy with his partitionist party and he talks of a military coup. What a joke. Not too long ago this elite force were killing each other in friendly fire in Ballinamore forest.I would like to see the clean out of this Fianna fail and fine gael thrash from our country though.Warrenpoint Co Down where occupied foreign forces sustained their second biggest defeat in the war of independence in Ireland

Warned you lot here awhile back about a military coup.I would'nt be worried about the lads on the ground. Its our two spitfires,P51 Mustang and German Heinkel bomber that our airforce has that would give me grounds for concern.

I can see it now:
"Lieutenant General Seam McCann speaking, hello!
Good afternoon Lt.General. CNN World News here, may I have a word.?"
"Hello, is there anyone there, can you speak up please".
Sorry Sir, is that better, are you planning on a take over?
Well the lads have just gone to the Pizza Hut for a dozen Pizzas.
No, no, a Take Over, a Take Over.
A take over what?
The Country!
Are you mad, sure the Countrys is in the sh#t, who in there right mind would be interested in taking it over.
But surely you would do a better job than whats gone before.
Well they were very symaptethic to our well deserved claims for deafness. No ear muffs you see, very bad situation, but we got what we deserved.
So yourself Lt. Gen, did you get compo!!
Hello, hello, can you speak up please, I think I´ve lost them..hello, hello,ah ,your back lads, good, mine was the one with pepperoni,
