To be sure, it is Martin who has the Irish mother, Mary Ann Phelan of Tipperary. I believe there was some IRA in the background too. Martin Sheen is a great American.

As likeable as Charlie is, he continues to "fall off the deep end". His real name is Carlos Estevez. The dad took the name of Sheen from his respect for Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Granted that his mother is Irish.
