Ya know something? There are NO, NADA "Irish Pubs in Boston. There may be "Irish Theme" pubs & faux-Irish pubs in Boston, but the only "Irish" pubs are in Ireland. In Ireland the publicans are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to "discrimination". Travellers often "bait" the publicans and hoteliers into breaking discrimination laws, then sue and get big payouts. When travellers are around the area most publicans have two options: 1) Stay open, serve the Travellers and then see their lovely pub turned into a pile of broken timber and smashed bottles OR close down entirely for the duration of the Traveller blight. Most opt to close rather than see a pub, which is their livelyhood destroyed. The annual Novena is on in Knock, currently. Lets see how (as usual) the Traveller lifestyle screws up normality there.
